Avgerinata Estate lies in a strategic point, very near to all sort of outdoor amenities suitable for all ages and for all year round.

 

 

 

Walking and Exploring the countryside is the easiest option. Depending upon preferences can be as far or hard as you like. Haliotata area within 2km downhill is ideal for all the family, since you can visit the remains from the old pre-earthquake community.

 

A traditional Kefalonian village with stone houses, stone olive press or wine press and threshing floors. From there you can continue as far as Poulata village by a 2km

 

Another longer circuit are the villages of Grizata within3km and then turn left to Katapodata, Tzanetata which finally arrive to Sami after 5km.

 

Total walking distance is 8km in a not difficult road.

From Grizata if you turn on the right you will find Zervata within 3km so you can visit the local folklore museum and continue as far as the horse stables. Total walking distance is 6km from the Estate.

 

 

 

 

 

Bavarian Horse Riding Stables based outside of Sami, on the road to Poros between Zervata and Koulourata villages. The stables are run by a qualified German horse instructor in countryside, dressage and jumping.

 

Enjoy the mountains, canyons, valleys, olive groves and nature of the island on a horseback. With well trained, sturdy and sure-footed horses (Haflingers or Bavarian Warm Bloods) and a qualified teacher anybody can ride, whether you are beginner or an experienced rider, young or older person. For riding are used Western, English and Trekking saddles.

 

 

Bicycles are available for rent so you can enjoy the scenery using small off truck roads. When the temperature is not so high, is ideal exercise for body and mind.

 

Swimming by the pool ( Pournari Stone House has a heated one ) or by the sea, while weather is permitted. If you are keen swimmer in long distances, you can try from Sami beach -in front of camping- to Karavomilos and back. Duration 1,30h.

 

Scuba Diving is available at the area of Agia Efimia.  They offer courses for everyone from beginner to advance for all CMAS & PADI certification and for certified divers who like specialties. For those who just want to try the experience, our instructors are ready to help taking the first underwater steps in a 90 minutes course.

 

 

Boat rental is available at the areas of Agia Efimia and Fiscardo. You may think is difficult to sail a boat, but actually is so easy for anybody, if they give you some basic instructions and weather is perfect, you can enjoy a different day out. Find your own tiny beach, feel close to the nature by swimming with no clothes, have a picnic by the seaside and feel free since you are far away from the civilized world.

 

Kefalonia Game Farm based in a surface of 1000hectares at the location Anemomilos –Windmill- at Pessada, in the south part of the island.

The standards of this reserve are among the few found in Greece and which correspond to the European and American models. It carries on its operation for 23years continuously having hosted up to nowadays personalities and famous hunters from all over the world.

Quarries are breeding from own eggs in the hatching area and the produced species are pheasant kolhikos, pheasant ringkek, partridges of the plains, partridges of the desert from Morocco, partridges chukar from Cyprus and two kind of American quails bob white (kolinos) and Tenesy Red.

Trained dogs are provided by the owner of the farm. Skeet shooting and a boutique with all the necessary hunting equipment is available.
